Guinevere

Guinevere

The great mystery of the universe
Is we don’t know what it is
Is it organized KAOS, or a Fibonacci sequence
Life is math, who you are is in your DNA
But, random errors can ruin a fine day

Is synchronicity even a “thing”?
What’s a meaningful coincidence?
Can butterflies flap their wings and effect the winds of change?
Are we a simulation? That would explain so much
But, things get lost in translation without a human touch

I’ve forgotten what its like to be in love
To kiss the white rose
Hear the koo of a morning dove
I’ll dance with you at sunrise
Sing a sonnet that I wrote
Lie with you on a sandy beach
As waves come crashing down

In your eyes I see a light
Secrets that hide at night
My knight’s quest for the holy graal
A quest I shall not fail
My chalice always half-full
In my heart I always knew
You are my Guinevere
I could ever love ... only you

I’d like to be Captain Nemo
My Nautilus cutting through the sea
Battling Krakens and Leviathans
Turn them into sushi
Stalking pirates and sordid miscreants
Or just drifting in the deep blue
I’d find Davey Jones’ locker, and give
...all the treasure to you ...

I’ve forgotten what its like to be in love
To kiss the white rose
Hear the koo of a morning dove
I’ll dance with you at sunrise
Sing the sonnet that I wrote
Lie with you on a sandy beach
As waves come crashing down

In your eyes I see a light
Secrets that hide at night
My knight’s quest for the holy graal
A quest I shall not fail
My chalice always half-full
In my heart I always knew
You are my Guinevere
I could ever love ...
... only you
