Superman

Sometimes I feel more than I am
The man I'd like to be
What would you think if Superman
Was standing here, not me

Sometimes I'm not so strong
Sometimes I'm not so wise

If I had a wish or two
I'll tell you what I'd do

I'd like to touch with healing hands
The pain I see before me
Much deeper than mere flesh or bone
A spirit lost its song

Looking around I hope to find
A golden chord for all mankind
No one would cry no more
I'd feel so glad
No one can touch me now
I feel like Superman

I'd like to see with a laser eye
A ray of truth, call it justice
The word of law has lost its soul
Lost in technicalities

Looking around I hope to find
A touchstone to judge all mankind
No one would lie no more
I'd feel so glad
No one can touch me now
I feel like Superman

I'd like to know from right or wrong
I walk a crooked mile
To see the light through this moral maze
A beacon in the night

Looking around I hope to find
A flaming bush to ease my mind
No one would die no more
I'd feel so glad
No one can touch me now
I feel like Superman
